Deliverect vs Flipdish: Which Is Better for Your Restaurant?
Deliverect vs Flipdish: the short answer
If you want one system that runs your POS, your own ordering website and app, kiosks and marketing, pick Flipdish. Deliverect does one job. It takes orders from Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo and pushes them into the POS you already have.
That job is useful, especially if most of your orders come through the marketplaces. But it's only part of what most restaurants are trying to fix. If you want to own your ordering channels, keep in touch with your own customers and run everything from one place, Flipdish does more.
What does Deliverect do?
Deliverect is an order aggregation and integration platform. It sits between the delivery marketplaces and your POS. A customer orders on Uber Eats, Deliverect picks the order up and sends it straight to your POS and kitchen screen. Nobody has to read it off a tablet and type it in again.
Anyone who has worked a busy Friday with three marketplace tablets going off on the counter will get the appeal straight away. Each tablet has its own alert, its own accept button and its own way of showing modifiers. Staff copy every order into the till by hand, and every time they do there's a chance the burger goes out with cheese it shouldn't have, or an allergy note gets missed. Deliverect removes that step.
It also lets you manage your menu across channels from one place. Change a price or mark an item as sold out and it updates on every marketplace, instead of logging into three separate back offices. There's basic reporting on orders by channel and some tools for running delivery.
What Deliverect doesn't have: a POS, a branded ordering website, a mobile app, self-service kiosks, loyalty, AI marketing or phone ordering. It's plumbing for marketplaces. You still need a POS from someone else, and if you want customers ordering from you directly, that's another product again.
What does Flipdish do?
Flipdish is a full-stack restaurant technology platform. It covers the order from the moment a customer taps "order" to the ticket landing in the kitchen:
- A restaurant POS system with a kitchen display system
- Direct online ordering through your own branded website
- Branded mobile apps
- Self-service kiosks
- AI phone ordering
- AI marketing
- Customer loyalty
- Delivery management
- Reporting across every channel and location
Flipdish also connects to the major delivery marketplaces. So marketplace orders can land in the same system as your direct orders - which is the thing Deliverect does - and you've got the tools to grow your own ordering channel on top.
What are restaurants actually trying to solve?
Nobody goes looking for an order aggregator because they enjoy buying software. They do it because marketplace orders are a pain to manage and they're expensive. Deliverect deals with the pain. It doesn't touch the expense.
Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo typically charge 25-35% commission on every order. A restaurant doing £10,000 a month through marketplaces pays £2,500-£3,500 in fees before rent, wages, ingredients or anything else. Over a year that's £30,000-£42,000.
Look at a single order. A £25 order at 30% commission sends £7.50 to the marketplace. The same £25 order placed through the restaurant's own website or app, powered by Flipdish, pays no marketplace commission. Card processing still applies, as it does on any order, but the 30% is gone.
Deliverect makes marketplace operations easier to run. Fewer tablets, fewer mistakes, less rekeying. The commission on each order is exactly the same with or without it, though. It helps you manage the bill. It doesn't make the bill smaller.
Flipdish goes after the bill itself by moving orders from marketplaces to your own channels. Here's a rough example. Say you're doing that same £10,000 a month on marketplaces at 30%, and you get a fifth of those orders to come direct instead. That's £2,000 of orders a month no longer paying commission, which is £600 a month, or £7,200 a year, that stays with you. The real number depends on your customers and how hard you push the direct channel, but the maths is that simple.
Marketplaces still have a use. They put you in front of people who've never heard of you. The problem is paying 30% every time a regular who already knows your name orders the same curry they ordered last week. Those are the orders worth moving.

When does Deliverect make sense?
Deliverect is a reasonable choice if:
- You're committed to a specific POS and aren't going to change it, maybe because you've just signed a long contract or it's tied into other systems you don't want to unpick
- A big share of your revenue comes from third-party marketplaces
- You need those marketplace orders flowing into your POS automatically and that's the only problem you're trying to fix right now
The limitation is that Deliverect only solves marketplace management. It won't grow your direct orders. It won't help you get customers coming back. It won't reduce your marketplace fees.
It also adds to your stack rather than replacing anything in it. You pay for Deliverect on top of your POS, and if you want a proper ordering website, an app or loyalty, you're paying for those separately too. Then someone has to keep all of them talking to each other.
When does Flipdish make sense?
Flipdish is the better fit if:
- You want to own your ordering channel and rely less on the marketplaces
- You need a POS as well as online ordering
- You want a branded app or kiosks
- You run several locations and want one platform across all of them, with one set of reports
- You want automated marketing and loyalty without bolting on another tool
There's also the customer side. When someone orders through your own website or app, that order and that customer sit in your system. You can see who hasn't ordered in a month and send them an offer through Flipdish's loyalty and AI marketing tools. A customer who only ever orders through a marketplace is much harder to reach in the same way.
For most restaurants planning to grow, Flipdish gives you more to build on than Deliverect does.
Marketplace integration with Flipdish
Choosing Flipdish doesn't mean walking away from Just Eat, Uber Eats or Deliveroo. Flipdish integrates with the major delivery marketplaces, so marketplace orders still come in and go through to the kitchen via Flipdish. That's the same function Deliverect provides. At the same time, your direct orders from your website, app, kiosks and phone line run through the same system.
So you don't have to pick between handling marketplace orders efficiently and growing your own channel. Flipdish does both, and the kitchen sees every order in one place whichever way it came in.
A few questions before you decide
Start with your numbers. What share of your orders comes from marketplaces, and what did you pay in commission last month? If you don't know the second figure off the top of your head, add it up. It's usually higher than people expect.
Then look at your POS. If your contract runs for years and you're happy with it, Deliverect plugs a gap without a big change. If the contract is ending soon, or you're already irritated with it, that's a good moment to look at a platform that replaces the POS and the rest of the stack together.
Last, check whether you have a website that actually takes orders. A lot of restaurants have a nice site with a menu PDF and a link out to Deliveroo. Every order that comes through that link pays commission. If that's you, the direct channel is where the money is, and Deliverect doesn't help with it.
Pricing
Deliverect charges per location per month, starting from around £70-£100 per location depending on how many marketplaces you connect and which features you need. For three sites that's roughly £210-£300 a month, or £2,520-£3,600 a year. That's before you pay for the POS it connects to, or any ordering website, app or marketing tool.
Flipdish pricing depends on which products you use and how many locations you have. Because Flipdish replaces several tools - POS, ordering website, app, loyalty - the total cost often comes out about the same as, or lower than, Deliverect plus a separate POS, ordering platform and marketing tool.
The fair way to compare is to add up everything you pay today: POS subscription and hardware, Deliverect or any other aggregator, your ordering website, app, loyalty scheme and email or SMS tool. Put that next to a single Flipdish quote. Get a quote from Flipdish directly and compare it against your current stack.
The bottom line
Deliverect is a decent piece of middleware for restaurants that live on third-party marketplaces and want to keep their current POS. Flipdish handles marketplace integration too, and adds the POS, the ordering website, the app, kiosks, loyalty and marketing that let you build a direct relationship with your customers.
If you're serious about improving margins and owning your ordering channel, Flipdish is the better long-term choice.
